XR Rikenon 28mm f3.5 Aspherical
October 1, 2015
Recently acquired this lens from a 2nd hand local lens importer from Japan. I believe it was sold only in Japan but a local photographer whom I acquired the XR Rikenon 45mm f2.8 told me he saw one in one of the local camera stores in Makati back in the late 90″s. The two lenses were both released at the same time and only had a year of production run (1996-97) which make them both quite rare. The lens weights just 55 grams and is made out of good plastic and has metal mount and accepts 52mm filters.
Here are sample shots taken w/ a Pentax K-5ii:
Wide-open SOOC.
100% crop of the above:
f5.6
Like other old lenses, it also suffer purple fringes as shown.
Taken by a GXR w/ A12 M mount + K-mount lens adapter.
Pentax K 28mm f2.0 vs Sigma 30mm f1.4
May 2, 2014
Been wanting to test this favorite two lenses of mine for a while. Here’s a quick comparison of the two on their close focus capability. I only tested it on f2 and f5.6. As can be seen below, on f2 aperture, the Sigma wins since the Pentax Hollywood is used fully wide open. But on f5.6, Pentax wins big upon 100% view.
On a 100% view, its more obvious to see the character of each lens.
Added a photo taken from Sigma at 1/60 as the 1/40 is a bit of back focus.
